What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They make the site work, remember preferences, and (with your consent) measure usage.
This site also uses similar technologies — localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixel tags — collectively referred to as "cookies and similar technologies" below.
Categories of cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Consent required? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Login, session, security (CSRF), language preference, consent record | No (Art. 5(3) ePrivacy exception) |
| Functional | Remember UI preferences (theme, layout, dismissed banners) | Yes |
| Analytics | Measure usage of the marketing site alethe.eu — Google Analytics 4, IP anonymisation on, loaded only after you give Analytics consent | Yes |
| Marketing | Meta Pixel on the marketing site alethe.eu (advertising measurement/audiences) — used with your prior Marketing consent only | Yes |
Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel run on the marketing site alethe.eu only, strictly after opt-in consent per category; app.alethe.eu (the platform) sets no analytics or marketing trackers.

How to manage your consent
- First visit: the cookie banner lets you accept all, reject all, or customise per-category.
- Anytime after: click the persistent "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer — it is available on every page — to change your choices.
- Browser controls: all major browsers let you block or delete cookies in settings.
- Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it — single click on the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
If you reject non-essential cookies, Alethe still works fully — only analytics and UI-preference persistence are affected.
Subprocessors and third-party cookies
Cookies set by third-party services are processed under those services' own privacy policies. Currently used:
- Stripe Checkout (when purchasing a paid plan) —
__stripe_*cookies, Stripe LLC + Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. Set only when you reach the checkout flow. Stripe Privacy: stripe.com/privacy - Google Analytics 4 (consent-gated, marketing site alethe.eu only) —
_ga/_ga_*cookies, Google LLC; measurement ID G-NM0TL3PFG4; IP anonymisation on; loaded only after Analytics consent. Google Privacy: policies.google.com/privacy - Meta Pixel (consent-gated, marketing site alethe.eu only) —
_fbp/_fbccookies, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.; pixel ID 1403644534357923; loaded only after Marketing consent. Meta Privacy: facebook.com/privacy/policy
GA4 and the Meta Pixel run on the marketing site alethe.eu only, strictly after opt-in consent; app.alethe.eu sets no analytics or marketing trackers.
How our banner works
Our consent banner follows these rules:
- Accept-all and Reject-all buttons are equal size, weight, and prominence.
- Both are single click.
- No pre-ticked boxes for non-essential categories.
- "Customise" opens granular per-category toggles, each OFF by default.
- The strictly-necessary toggle is ON and disabled with a note.
- A persistent "Cookie preferences" link in the footer lets you withdraw consent in one click.
Changes
Material changes to this policy or to the cookies we use trigger a fresh consent prompt and an updated "Last updated" date above.
